The cross-country ski trail network in St. Anton is more than 40 km long and has been awarded the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval due to its high snow reliability, varying degrees of difficulty, parking facilities and good signposting. With the right equipment and planning, cross-country skiers of all levels can enjoy the pleasures of this winter sport to the full.

§ The equipment: The right cross-country skiing equipment is crucial. You need cross-country skis, cross-country boots and poles. Classic cross-country skis are ideal for beginners and occasional cross-country skiers, while more ambitious athletes can use skates. Make sure that your equipment is well maintained and suitable for your height and weight.

§ The right clothing: Cross-country skiing is strenuous, so it is important to dress appropriately. Layers are ideal as you will warm up during your tour. Breathable clothing, gloves and a hat are also recommended.

§ Cross-country ski trails and routes: St. Anton offers a network of well-groomed cross-country ski trails in various levels of difficulty. The Ganderau trail is 3 km long and is an ideal circuit for beginners and inexperienced skiers. The "Verwall trail" stretches over 10 km and is ideal for beginners and pleasure cross-country skiers. The "Stanzertal trail" is the longest continuous trail and runs for 22 km along the Rosanna to Flirsch and back again.  

§ Cross-country ski schools: For beginners or those looking to improve their technique, local cross-country ski schools offer professional lessons and guided tours. This is a great way to learn the basics and get the most out of your cross-country skiing adventure.
