Away from the groomed pistes, a world of untouched slopes, challenging couloirs and remote peaks awaits - a true paradise for challenging freeriding fun and a magical attraction for winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world.

Safety comes first

For freeride beginners, it is advisable to take advantage of guided tours and courses with experienced guides, so that not only can valuable tips on technique and route selection be passed on, but safety is also guaranteed. Incidentally, everyone can learn how to use the basic safety equipment (avalanche beacon, probe, shovel), which every freerider should have with them, in the Freeride Safety practice area.

The freeride checkpoints on Rendl, Galzig and Gampen provide information on current avalanche danger levels, and the regular avalanche blasting in the region ensures the greatest possible safety.

There are numerous medium and difficult ski routes for freeriders in St. Anton. One particular highlight, however, is the Valluga north descent. The route from St. Anton into the Pazieltal valley to Zürs is not only extremely steep and exposed, but also dangerous, and therefore really only for real pros looking for an intense adventure.

Off the slopes, but not away from responsibility
